Definition

Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a rare inflammatory condition characterized by the infiltration of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell, into the gastrointestinal tract. This infiltration can cause a variety of symptoms and complications, including abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and weight loss. The exact cause of eosinophilic gastroenteritis is unknown, but it may be related to allergies or immune system dysfunction.
