Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are a group of rare genetic disorders affecting the connective tissues in the body, which provide support to the skin, bones, blood vessels, and other organs. EDS is characterized by hypermobility of joints, skin that is easily bruised and hyper-elastic, and easy development of scars. There are 13 subtypes of EDS, each with varying symptoms and severity.
