An ectopic ureter is a congenital condition in which one or both of the ureters, the tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder, do not connect properly to the bladder. Instead, they may connect to another structure within the urinary system or reproductive system, leading to urinary incontinence and other complications.
