Definition

Dacryocystitis is an inflammatory condition affecting the lacrimal sac, which is responsible for collecting and draining tears from the eye. It is typically caused by a blockage in the nasolacrimal duct, leading to infection and inflammation. Symptoms may include pain, redness, and swelling in the inner corner of the eye, as well as discharge and tearing.
