Atypical hyperplasia is a precancerous condition characterized by the abnormal proliferation of cells within the breast or endometrial tissue. It is associated with an increased risk of developing breast or endometrial cancer in the future. The cellular changes observed in atypical hyperplasia are not yet cancerous but may progress to cancer if left untreated.
