Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF)

Definition

Anterior dervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) is a surgical procedure performed to remove a damaged or herniated disc from the cervical spine and fuse the adjacent vertebrae together for stability. The surgery is performed through an incision in the front of the neck, allowing for direct access to the affected disc and minimizing disruption to surrounding tissues.
