Allergic Conjunctivitis, Ocular Allergies
Definition
Allergic conjunctivitis, also known as ocular allergies, is an eye condition characterized by inflammation and irritation of the tissue that covers the inside of the eyelids (conjunctiva) due to an allergic reaction. It occurs when the immune system overreacts to allergens such as pollen, dust, mold, or pet dander, causing symptoms like redness, itching, and tearing.
