Acinic Cell Carcinoma

Definition

Acinic cell carcinoma is a rare type of cancer that originates in the acinar cells of the salivary glands. These cells produce saliva and are found in the parotid gland, submandibular gland, and sublingual gland. Acinic cell carcinoma is typically slow-growing and has a better prognosis than other salivary gland cancers.
