Meredith Gilmore had a great life. She had a wonderful family and ran her own sports management company, handling clients including tennis star Maria Sharapova and quarterback Cam Newton.
Then, one day, after running for eight miles, she suffered a stroke.
With the help of Caitlin Loomis, MD, a stroke specialist in Yale Medicine's Neurology department, she worked hard to recover. Her big turnaround moment came when she climbed to the top of an indoor rock climbing wall. She calls her experience "a stroke of luck," because it brought her closer to her son.
