Restoring a Woman's Memory and Independence

When Eleanor Mendell started forgetting things, her children assumed it was the beginning of dementia. But then she had a seizure and a large brain tumor was discovered.

This short documentary catches up with Eleanor after her craniotomy–a procedure in which a section of the skull is temporarily removed to access the brain. The operation was performed by Jennifer Moliterno, MD, one of Yale Medicine’s highly experienced neurosurgeons. As Dr. Moliterno predicted, the surgery has reversed Eleanor’s dementia and restored her ability to live an independent, happy life.
