A 3D Mammogram Helped Save Her Life

Carol Manago went in for a routine breast cancer screening. She received 3D mammography—an advanced technology pioneered by Yale Medicine.

The procedure makes a huge difference in the accuracy of results, especially for women such as Carol, who have dense tissue that is hard to analyze.

Carol and her fiancé, Nathan, are extremely grateful to Liane Philpotts, MD, and the Radiology & Biomedical Imaging team at Yale Medicine. Their quick, careful diagnosis of Carol’s hard-to-find cancer meant she was able to start treatment within two weeks. It saved her life.
