Biography

Melissa Joseph, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She attended the Keck School of Medicine of USC in Los Angeles, CA where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed training and Chief Residency in Emergency Medicine at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center prior to coming to Yale University.

Dr. Joseph completed her fellowship in Medical Simulation at the Yale Center for Medical Simulation and is now the Director of Resident Simulation at YCMS. Her research interests include physician trainee stress, burnout, and clinical decision-making. She was the recipient of the Outstanding Attending Award from the Yale New Haven Hospital Emergency Medicine PA Residency Program in 2019 and the Outstanding Teaching in Emergency Medicine Award from Yale Emergency Medicine Residency Program in 2020. She works as an attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital at both York Street and St. Raphael campuses.
