Pediatric Urology

Biography

Kaitlyn Murphy, APRN, CPNP, is a pediatric nurse practitioner who cares for patients in the Pediatric Bladder & Continence Program at Yale Medicine.

“I love working with children and have dedicated my professional career to this strong and resilient population,” says Murphy.

In her work, she treats the underlying bladder and incontinence issues children encounter that cause their daytime and nighttime wetting accidents. She is interested in researching voiding dysfunction and neuropsychiatric conditions.

It’s particularly rewarding for her to see how children’s lives change for the better with the right care. “Improved self-esteem, socialization and independence have been observed in children who’ve undergone incontinence treatment,” says Murphy, who feels she’s found the right area of medicine for her.

“Pediatric urology is my passion because, at the end of the day, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing your patients smile because they are finally dry,” says Murphy.
