Dr. Kristine Orion is board certified in general surgery. Her clinical focus is diabetic limb salvage and complex aortic repair. She has extensive experience in advanced endovascular and complex open vascular surgery, which extends across a wide range of vascular disorders, including: woman’s health, thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysms, aortic dissections, carotid disease, thoracic outlet syndrome, lower extremity occlusive disease, dialysis access, varicose veins, and venous insufficiency.
Dr. Orion earned her medical degree at the University of Miami. She completed a general surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and a fellowship in vascular surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Orion is a devoted surgeon educator and was the recipient of the Resident Teacher of the Year award while at the University of Iowa. She has published many works in open and minimally invasive vascular surgery and is now beginning an academically focused career. Dr. Orion is an active candidate member of the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society and the Society for Vascular Surgery.
