David J. Hur, MD, FACC, FASE, FSCCT, FSCMR

Cardiac Imaging, Cardiovascular Medicine

Biography

David Hur, MD, is a cardiologist who specializes in the use of imaging to diagnose and manage a variety of cardiovascular diseases, including infective endocarditis and pulmonary hypertension, as well as structural and valvular heart diseases, such as thoracic aorta aneurysm, aortic stenosis, and mitral regurgitation.

An active researcher, Dr. Hur has investigated the use of multimodality imaging in endocarditis, right heart disease, aortopathy, and valvular heart disease, as well as how to improve the incorporation of cardiac computed tomography (CCT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) education into general fellowship training. (CCT is an imaging technique similar to X-rays that cardiologists use to diagnose heart disease, and MRI produces three-dimensional images of the body for tissue characterization of the heart.)

His other research interests include echocardiography, multidetector computed tomography, and other advanced cardiovascular imaging techniques, such as three-dimensional imaging.

Additionally, Dr. Hur is involved in educating trainees in the Yale Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship; he was awarded the Yale Cardiology Faculty Teaching Award for his efforts.
