Biography

Anthony Musto, MD, is an ophthalmologist who specializes in comprehensive eye care.

“My primary intent is to provide friendly, ethical, and competent treatment to all my patients,” he says. “In addition to patients, I enjoy working with students and residents. It is a pleasure to impart knowledge based on experience to young physicians.

Dr. Musto says the best part of his job is the wide variety of problems he sees, and the treatment options he gets to apply. To reassure patients, he says he tells them, “We will find out what the problem is, then work to fix it.”

He has been named a “top doctor” by many surveys. He served as the chief of ophthalmology at Bridgeport Hospital for more than 25 years, and was previously chief of staff and president of the medical staff. In 2004, Bridgeport Hospital honored him with a “university chair” lifetime achievement award for his service. He was a voluntary member of the Yale School of Medicine faculty for many years, and joined the full-time faculty in 2018.
