Alia Bazzy-Asaad, MD, specializes in pediatric respiratory medicine, and treats patients both in and out of the hospital with such conditions as asthma, chronic cough and recurrent pneumonia. Dr. Bazzy-Asaad says she enjoys being part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to family- and patient-centered care. “We have the ability to offer new therapies that were not available just a few years ago, and I get to see the benefits these therapies provide to children,” she says.

Dr. Bazzy-Asaad is section chief of pediatric respiratory medicine at Yale Medicine, which focuses on children with life-threatening and chronic respiratory diseases and conditions. She is director of the pediatric asthma care team and Yale Medicine Pediatric Asthma Program, and co-director of the Pediatric Aerodigestive Program. Dr. Bazzy-Asaad is an associate professor of pediatrics (respiratory) at Yale School of Medicine.
