Smilow Parenting at a Challenging Time (PACT) Program

The PACT program at Smilow Cancer Hospital offers free guidance and support to parents with cancer who are concerned about how their illness will affect their children. PACT clinicians understand that parents know their children best. We work with parents to develop a strategy that will best support individual children of any age as they come to understand their parents’ illness and treatment. We provide individual consultations with patients, or patients with their partners and/or other caregivers. Meetings range from one to several sessions, as needed.

We can help clarify how children cope with their parents’ diagnosis and, if further support is necessary, offer guidance on how to obtain additional support.
