Yale Medicine’s Gynecologic Oncology Section features our team of clinicians whose focus is caring for women with gynecologic cancer. Our doctors are board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as in the subspecialty of gynecologic oncology: the management of patients with gynecological cancer through a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
Our section is a key component of the Yale Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated research center in Southern New England. Our physicians play a vital role in introducing new methods of treating and diagnosing gynecologic cancers. We offer the only program in the state for the early detection of ovarian cancer and we have developed the use of chemotherapy prior to surgery (neoadjuvant chemotherapy) in managing advanced-stage ovarian cancer.
Cancer can be a frightening diagnosis. We put patients at ease by providing cutting-edge treatments and the highest standard of care available. We help our patients navigate through all stages of cancer care, from diagnosis and treatment options to follow-up support services and programs.
