Mechanisms of hypertension in women with polycystic ovary syndrome
- Study HIC#:2000020950
- Last Updated:07/15/2021
Our goal is to understand how insulin resistance effect blood pressure in women, with a special focus in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). We are interested in whether exposure to testosterone may cause mild hypertension in women. Screening includes having an oral glucose tolerance test to measure blood glucose levels and insulin levels. If you have impaired glucose tolerance and you are overweight or moderately obese, you are eligible to participate in the rest of the study. The study includes taking hormones and tests of blood pressure regulation.
